The primary purpose of THE ADULT LEARNING CENTER is to increase each student’s ability to participate fully in the economic and social life of the region.
THE ADULT LEARNING CENTER will increase the English language skills of low to moderate income men and women in an environment conducive to learning.

OBJECTIVES
- Provide a place where adults will feel welcome and able to participate in a learning program adapted to their levels of competency.
- Provide the personnel and tools necessary for adults to maximize their English language skills.
- Provide the services needed to increase the possibility of continued attendance.

THE ADULT LEARNING CENTER will facilitate greater involvement of the center participants in services available through federal, state, local and private resources, particularly those related to employment.

OBJECTIVES
- Provide an informal clearinghouse for access to social service programs.
- Provide a meeting place for representatives of outreach programs that can provide services to or opportunities for participants.
- Provide those classes, workshops and tutorials, which will prepare individuals to actively seek gainful employment.

THE ADULT LEARNING CENTER will sponsor or provide programs in citizenship education.

OBJECTIVES
- Provide required classes for those with sufficient language skills to qualify.
- Initiate a revolving loan for those unable to afford the citizenship process.
